Employee Spotlight: Jose Salas from Amarillo

Since being founded in 1997, Talon/LPE has grown significantly and has become an industry leader. However it wasn't always like that. Originally hired for his work ethic while mowing lawns for the Prescott family, Jose Salas has worked hard to be where he is today. Talon/LPE's oldest (and in his opinion, best!) employee is featured in this spotlight for his loyalty, dedication and hard work ethic. Say hello to Jose!

What is your favorite thing about working for Talon/LPE?

I really enjoy my coworkers, especially since so many of them are family. My father and brother in law both work with me and I have several cousins that also work at Talon/LPE. It takes a family culture to a whole new level.

What brought you to Talon/LPE?

I was originally working for the owner of the company mowing lawns. I have gradually moved up over the years, 20 years to be exact. I would have to say it's a lot more structured now...

Out of our ten principles, which one do you value most? Why?

I really value relationships. It's great to work with so many people who all get along so well together.

What do you like most about your team?

I really feel like my team works quickly and efficiently to get the job done. It's great seeing so much hard work all for the same, ultimate goal.

What skillset do you feel strongest in at Talon/LPE? Why?

I really feel strongest in drilling. I have been drilling for over 18 years and have really learned a lot during that time.

What has been your proudest moment while working at Talon/LPE?

Although my 20-year anniversary was a great moment to be proud of, my proudest moment at Talon/LPE has to be becoming a lead driller. I really enjoy running the rig with all the guys.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I like to spend my time with my family and 3 kids. I also really enjoy 4-wheelers and RC cars.
