TALON/LPE TO SUPPORT ADVO THIS CHRISTMAS 

There is so much to be thankful for this holiday season, but something that we’re thankful for all year is family. 

With that said, we’re especially thankful for Advo Companies and what it means to all of us at Talon/LPE, as one of our family members has been an Advo client for 16 years.

That’s why this Christmas, Talon/LPE is excited to team up with Advo Companies to help make a difference.

For those not familiar, Advo Companies is a nonprofit agency that works to provide quality housing and meaningful employment to adults with intellectual disabilities.

Within the Amarillo area, Advo has 21 group homes. These homes offer supervised living options that allow individuals to experience independent living with the support necessary to accomplish personal goals.

Furthermore, Advo Companies provides employment opportunities within the community and the workshop at Advo. Advo evaluates every individual to determine their talents and skill levels to ensure success in their job placement.

Nearly ten years ago, a devastating fire destroyed the non-profits main office and workshop.

A new facility was opened In August 2011 on South Washington in Amarillo, Texas. There is a need for more space and Advo has committed to a three phase expansion project to better serve their clients.

Phase I is a transitional employment and education center to facilitate competitive employment in the community setting. Phase II is a fully accessible ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Park and Phase III a gymnasium/activity center.

This is where the community can help by making donations. At this time Advo is focusing on Phase I but donations can be designated for any of the three phases.
