Fort Collins, Colorado is home to arguably one of our most beautiful offices (their back door opens to mountains) and also to this month’s Employee Spotlight, Jennifer Galles! Jennifer serves as the District Manager for our Fort Collins office and goes above and beyond for everything Talon/LPE has to offer. This is just one of the many reasons she was chosen for this month’s employee spotlight!

1. What is your favorite thing about working for Talon/LPE?

The culture. I've worked for a few other consulting firms in my career, and I enjoy the family culture that Talon/LPE offers.

2. What brought you to Talon/LPE?

I came to Talon/LPE when the company expanded into Colorado and opened the office in Fort Collins. I was one of 3 employees for the new office. I came to the company because I was excited for the opportunity for growth and the chance to shape an office from the beginning.

3. Out of our ten principles, which one do you value most? Why?

Professionalism. I have always believed we are in charge of our own growth, and that principle has gotten me to where I am today. Everyone has room to learn something new, and I enjoy expanding my education as well as mentoring others.

4. What do you like most about your team?

The camaraderie. Being a part of a small team means we have a big trust in each other and we all have to work together closely. This has brought us together as a true team rather than a hierarchy. We are also all friends, which makes work enjoyable.

5. What skillset do you feel strongest in at Talon/LPE? Why?

I've always been strong in technical aspects. I am a data geek and a proud nerd. I am also excellent at writing reports. But I also enjoy nurturing relationships such as client management and mentoring others.

6. What has been your proudest moment while working at Talon/LPE?

Late 2017, I had responded to a spill call on a Sunday. There had been a crude oil release in a nearby town. When I arrived on site, I met with the client who let me know he wasn't quite sure what to do. I assured him that's why I (Talon/LPE) was there and that everything would be handled. Later, this client recommended us to another company who also turned into a client. He wrote a very nice letter of recommendation and sent it to my supervisor. Additionally, two of my peers, Jason Leverton and Ken Rogowski, nominated me for employee of the month for performing well on the spill as well as winning new work because of the client recommendation. All of these things combined was an incredibly proud experience.

7. What do you like to do in your free time?

Well, I'm a District Manager, a wife, a mom to 2 kids that have lots of activities, and I have a photography business, so I don't have much free time. But I do enjoy camping with my family to unwind and unplug. I also enjoy gardening, playing with my kids, and game nights with friends.
