We understand the delicate balance between agricultural practices, such as Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) and dairies, and the preservation of our environmental resources. The complex nature of these operations often creates unique challenges for maintaining compliance with environmental regulations. With the reissuance of the CAFO General Permit, Permit No. TXG920000, on July 20, 2019, the regulations governing CAFOs have become even more comprehensive. The permit now includes coverage for both Texas Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (TPDES) large and State-only CAFOs.

The newly defined TPDES large CAFOs are operations that meet the headcount for a large CAFO under the permit definition, while State-only CAFOs are dairy facilities that meet the medium CAFO headcount and are located in designated counties of the state. The permit also includes animal feeding operations specifically designated by the Executive Director as a CAFO, due to their significant contribution of pollutants into the state's water bodies.

Our team at Talon/LPE is poised to guide CAFOs and dairies through the process of achieving and maintaining compliance with these evolving regulations. Utilizing our environmental science and engineering expertise, we are dedicated to assisting our clients in meeting regulatory requirements while prioritizing sustainable practices.

We take a holistic approach to environmental compliance, working closely with our clients to understand their operational needs and to develop tailored, efficient, and practical solutions. Our team works to mitigate environmental risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of environmental stewardship.

To those CAFOs and dairies operating on the High Plains, Talon/LPE is here to serve as your partner in environmental compliance. We're committed to the principle that environmental protection and successful business operations are mutually achievable goals, and we're ready to help you meet those goals. Trust in our experience, our expertise, and our commitment to excellence.
